Wood Fence and Gate Warranty

Weeks Family Fencing & Gutters in Pensacola, FL, is dedicated to delivering a sturdy, high-quality fence that will last for many years. We provide a 2-year warranty on the craftsmanship of all fences we build. Additionally, gate closures and locking mechanisms come with a one-year warranty against defects in workmanship under normal conditions. However, we do not offer a warranty for the materials, as most are backed by their own manufacturer's warranty when installed properly.

What to Expect With a Wooden Fence

It is common for pressure-treated wood to show splintering or natural characteristics, such as knots, due to the inherent effects of drying and weathering. For quality control reasons, we do not remove mill code stamps or stickers from the wood framing boards. Surface cracking, especially on wood posts and stringers, is quite normal with treated wood and is not covered by the warranty. Boards may expand and contract as temperatures fluctuate.

Warranty On All Fences

This warranty becomes effective once the project has been paid in full, as outlined in the contract. This warranty is not transferable to future homeowners. It does not apply to, and is waived by the owner for, any construction work that has suffered an accident, misuse, or abuse, nor does it cover any construction work that has been modified, altered, defaced, or repaired/attempted by others. All fence materials may be damaged by various factors beyond the control of WFF&G. Therefore, the warranty does not include normal wear and tear, unfortunate natural events like storm damage, high winds, and accidents. The warranty does NOT cover negligent maintenance or any additions or modifications made to the original fence, whether by the homeowner or another company/contractor. If we are asked to build in a way that we do not recommend or that does not comply with current code standards, that part of the work will not be included under warranty. It is important to remember that a fence is an outdoor structure subject to significant environmental changes. Our materials will experience changes when exposed to the elements, including aging (or weathering), discoloration or fading, and dimensional changes such as shrinkage, swelling, cracking, rotting, warping, bowing, and splitting, which are natural occurrences, particularly for wood fences. For wood fences, we typically use pressure-treated pine, which may develop cracks or "checking" as the material dries. Checking does not affect the fence's integrity and is not covered by the warranty. Any additional weight added to the fence or gate (ladder holder, hose holder, etc.) can cause leaning or sagging, which will void your warranty.

Warranty Inclusions

During installation, we take all necessary measures to ensure that posts are set at the correct depth and that we are using high-quality materials.
